HELP HELP HELP HELP

Postby parakeetloveer11 » Tue Mar 06, 2012 1:31 pm

So my parakeets fly around my house and know how to navigate it very well. :budgie: however today one of my parakeets was hanging on the curtain and her foot got caught. She got so scared that she tried flying out of it and i think she hurt or sprained her foot in the process. I had to cut off part of the curtain so she could be freed because part of her foot was wrapped around the curtain. I am sure she was in a bit of shock. HOWEVER, i can tell that her foot hurts her because she isnt standing on it and she keeps touching it for some odd reason as if that makes her feel better. What should I do guys, it doesnt look like the bone is out of place or anything I just can tell it is hurting her. Please respond ASAP i need advice. :budgie:

You can take the bird to the vet but I doubt there is anything the vet can do.

depending on what is wrong with your birds food there may be something a vet can do. Try to get her to a specialist avian vet though if you can as they are more likely to be able to help her that a vet that doesn't deal with birds much.
