I've had my Black Headed Caique for 13 days now & everything is going dandy, except that she does not seem to know how to entertain herself when I am preoccupied with other tasks such as cooking, cleaning, tending to my other pets, ect. At the parrot store I purchased her from she stood on a T stand all day and mostly interacted with humans but had some interaction with the other parrots. I'm assuming this is where her problem may stem from. She never had any toys to play with, or may not know how to play. I've tried showing her how to forage which has went well unless whatever she's eating is all gone or she loses her interest in. I tried showing her how to shred paper but she doesn't seem to care for that. And she seems to literally have ZERO interest in the 15 different toys I bought her. All she seems to want to do is sit on my shoulder chewing up my shirt or sitting beside me where ever I happen to be surfing, nibbling, or kissing my hand. I try to spend as much time as I possibly can with her but I can't have her on my shoulder when I'm cleaning and the fumes may be harmful to her. As soon as I stop paying attention to her or leave her for more than a few minutes she starts screaming or she'll get mad at me and be very nippy when I return to her. I completely ignore her screams and only return when she gets quiet or makes a quieter noise. Any advice?
