Does the leg band fit?

I searched the forum and read about band removal, but I want to know if the band fits? I have a parrotlet. I noticed lately he was been picking at his band. He's not strong enough to get it off, but after some research, I am worried that it doesn't fit properly! It is an open band, but the ends do not meet (touch), there is a small gap. I do not think it is enough (i'm not sure though) to go past his joint, but I think it might be him and that's why he is picking. Hard to see the skin underneath, but I don't think it looks red or bleed. I looked and i don't think there is anything small enough in his cage to get caught in it, but I want to ask you guy's opinion if it is on correctly and the right size. He appears to be picking at the gap. The open part has edges cut on a diagonal. I really don't want to remove it, because I don't trust the vets (bad experience with vets- even a highly recommended one). Unless it is absolutely necessary, I want to leave it be. Please look at the pic and see if gap looks okay and size, etc. Thanks in advance!

the leg looks fine, i've never seen a gap like that on a leg band though. sometimes it's just somthing to play with.i would look into getting it closed or removing it.

Thanks! that makes me feel better that his leg/skin looks fine. I was able to gently close the ends myself. It was fairly easy to do that, and I"m starting to think he was the one who pried it apart. I might keep an eye on it, and if it gaps again just go to get it off. Thanks again!
