Hello,
My Fiancee's sun conures had two eggs a few weeks back and just yesterday we noticed that (at least) one of them hatched. We can hear the hatchling chiriping quite a bit. We cannot get close enough to move the mother to find out what is going on underneath her. This is the very first hatchling for this mother parrot but she is 6 years old and very mature. My issue is that I do not know if she is feeding the hatchling. Also, I had to put a bowl in the cage for her to lay her eggs in as she was too scared to use the birdhouse we installed a few months ago. I just have some general questions. What kind of bedding should I provide? Should I even be changing the bedding at this point? How quickly should I intervene and try to hand feed? Should I even intervene? Any warning signs I should be looking for? How can I tell if the mother is smothering the hatchling? Anybody with good experience on this that could provide some simple advice would be great. I have other resources but figured I would try here as well. Thanks very much for your time!

Edit: I hope I posted this in the right spot. If not, lead me the way. Thank you!
Edit 2: Update! We did see the crop full so we think she is feeding them. Still need advice for bedding, etc. The other egg is still unhatched.
