If they're telling you to buzz off, then buzz off! leave them where they are and don't disturb them. Provide them with some nesting material like shredded paper, straw/hay, etc. They'll use it if they want.

I think so. There is commercial supplemental food you can buy for them, but they all contain boiled egg. If you make your own, remember it can go bad so just replace it with fresh everyday.
