untame mustache parakeet

Postby kmiller0320 » Wed Apr 04, 2012 8:20 am

I am looking at getting a mustache parakeet. It is 2-3 yrs old, in her second home, was going to be used for a breeder but never was and has never been worked with. Apparently all that happens is she gets fed daily with little interaction for fear of being bit. I would really like to give this bird a loving and forever home but am wondering if I'm taking on too big or impossible of a task of trying to tame this bird. I've never tried anything like this before. Also, apparently she does not talk at all, which is unusual for this bird and I don't know if she would start talking if worked with. I value any advise and opinions.

The bird can be tamed and trained but it may require more effort and patience.
