Oh! If price isn't an issue I highly suggest checking out http://www.freedomcage.com/ they are a usA company that makes cages to the HIGHEST standards possible. I've read many fantastic reviews about the company and all of their stainless steel cages are custom made and "Mark" (owner) will work with you personally on the phone to fit your exact birds needs. They have quite a good selection of powder coat cages with their special feeding system (pure genius)

If $$ is not an issue, going with a company based in the USA is much better than having the cage come from China/India where paint zinc/lead levels are potentially harmful and the material is shoddy. If you want quality stay away from A&E imo

I also love Expandable Habitats stainless steel cages. A lady I know has a few for her Cape parrot and her two Budgies, and the cages are absolutely beautiful. They're also made in the US.

I followed that link out of curiosity and the first thing I saw was the "Ocala" cage. "Huh," I thought, "I used to live in an 'Ocala'."

Then I saw the other cage names: Deltona, Volusia, Samsula, Wekiwa... Those are all cities or counties in Central Florida within a 5 - 30 minute drive of where I live. In fact all the cage names are Florida city or county names, but the company and owner are located in New Jersey. I wonder if he used to live in Florida?

Anyway, I don't have a Freedom Cage but I do have a stainless steel cage (Featherland) and I must say that I much prefer the stainless steel to the powder-coated cages I've owned. They're a bit easier to clean and you don't ever have to worry about the paint chipping.

All those cages look pretty impressive! I aim towards one like that one day. The cage Sparky came with is probably powder coated, although no guillotine doors thank goodness!

Thank you all for your suggestions! I very much like the "Ocala" cage, I might look into that one! I love the "buffet" style feeding tray! Hahaha.

Only thing I'm concerned with is bar spacing. What is the correct bar spacing for a Meyer's or Senegal?

I am pretty much fine with all cages, I just have 3 wants: 1. I need it to be no more of a depth than 26-27 inches. The width, etc, doesn't matter. But the area I'm putting it, it needs to be around 26" depth. 2. I really want it to have a play top. 3. I need it to have a seed skirt.
Other than those specifications, anything goes!

If you're looking to get stainless steel, just contact Mark via email or phone. All of his Stainless Steel cages are custom made to fit your bird so I'm sure he would be able to decrease bar spacing appropriate to what you're looking for, but my guess would be 3/4th's of an inch for that bird.

The feeder system is awesome because it lets you outfit the cage in so many different ways since the feeding system is actually outside the cage and no inside the cage. This way you don't have to worry about bird pooping in food bowls and having to design the perches around the bowls.

If you're truly interested in the Occala, make sure you contact Mark early to see if he has one ready in stock, or else he will build it and it will take around 4-6 weeks to complete/ship. You'll find the prices for Expandable Habitats and Freedom Cages are more expensive thancompetitive company stainless steel cages such as A&E or even Kings because they are custom made in USA using best quality steel and custom designed for quality.

I actually am very interested in the Occala cage. I really like it. I know I could afford it, it's just I have to clear it with my partner first. Not sure how that's going to go! Lol

Luckily, I haven't even begun thinking about when I'm going to actually GET the bird. For now, I'm just doing research, buying and reading books, asking questions, and about to start buying supplies. :P So, if I do decide on that cage, I'll have plenty of time to order the cage!

What about a King's Aluminum cage? Have you seen those? They're really pretty and much cheaper than stainless steel.

I have a stainless steel Featherland 2130 cage (21” D x 30” W) for my brown-headed parrot. I like it a lot. It has no nuts or bolts and it folds pretty flat which is great if you ever need to move it a significant distance.

It has a seed guard (which I don't use, personally).

I also ordered the optional exterior feeders:
