The nail trims may be less stressful for your bird if you teach him to let you do it, should be easy to do if your birds already tame, that way you wont have to take him anywhere and can make it less of an ordeal by just doing a couple of nails at a time.
I have the dremel cordless I bought specifically for trimming my pets nails. It may take me some work to get him comfortable with the dremel, but I will do it. I honestly never seen a more stressful nail trimming in my life as today. This woman may be OK feeding him formula, veggies, and cleaning his cage, but THANK GOD he won't have to endure that torture again. I just wanted to slap her when I saw her throw a towel on him and then grab him by the neck to pull him up and flip him on his back. WTF?! I'm no pro, but I know that wasn't right.
Sigh... anyways.. I go to the new vet on Saturday (not tomorrow, next week). I'll let you all know what she says. This is her site.
