I need some advice. I recently took in a Indian Ringneck (male) from a bad home. He was in a dirty cage, no toys, in a room all by himself. He's young, a little over a year. He's pretty aggressive. I have to wear a glove to get him in and out of is cage. He wont let my hand anywhere near him without trying to bite (hard). I wear the glove to protect me of course. I put some toys in his cage, but he never touches them. Ive tried putting different ones in, no luck. It's almost like he doesnt know how to play. They had him on a cockatiel seed diet, Ive been able to get him to eat pellets, but he gets seed also. He wont eat fruit or veg for me. He will take a few bites of an apple for me but thats about it. I have to take him out of the cage and put him ontop for time out of the cage because he wont come out by himself. When he's out he just sits there in the same spot until I put him back in. He does like other birds, but my goffin doesnt like him. Someone told me he would do better with another Indian Ringneck, maybe a female to breed with since he's aggressive with humans. I know nothing about breeding or handfeeding so I dont want to get another. I dont know what to do, he just doesnt seem happy. If rehoming him with someone who could give him a mate or a buddy to play with would make him happier, I would do it. It's sad to watch him just sit on a perch. Only time he moves about his cage is to go to the food bowl. What should I do??
