Shark Steam mop?

Postby Andromeda » Sun May 27, 2012 12:01 pm

I've seen several people on these boards talking about using the Shark Steam mop to clean your birds' cages.

I was looking into them and they have really mixed reviews on Amazon.com which makes me hesitant to purchase one.

I'm hoping that someone with personal experience can tell me whether they are using the Portable Steam Pocket or one of the actual Pocket mops?

Thanks in advance. :-)

I thing mine is is shark steam pro it has the covers on plastic heads...anyway , i just use the steam and scrub brush attachment. mostly to disinfect cages but i still use the vinager and 1 drop of dishliquid in hot water with a scrub brush for ordinary cleanings. i only got the steamer on a whim and won it on auction for low price. nice but not at full price. hope that helps. :gray: :amazon: :cockatoo:

It's really funny that you should post this because my mom just so happened to buy one of these a few days ago! I can't visualize how you would use it on a bird cage, but we've really liked how it works on floors. The water comes out really hot so it kills bacteria on the floor and lifts up the dirt, but there's no chemicals or toxic fumes to harm you or your pets. We've used it on both linoleum and hardwood, and it's cleaned both surfaces really well but not damaged the wood at all. :) Plus, you toss the fluffy mop head in the washing machine when you're done!
