I am getting another Rosella but I have to chose between en Eastern Rosella and an Adelaide Rosella. The ER is about 6 months so still a baby, the AR is 1½ years old. Both are NOT hand raised as it is impossible to find hand raised Rosellas here in Denmark. So they will be coming from an outside aviary and moving inside to a cage (with out-of-cage time ofcourse)
I believe Joe - my Crimson Rosella - used to live in an aviary but as we found him outside we dont have any history on him. The vet could only guess his age and his best guess was about 3 years old wich would mean he was about 2 when he moved into a cage and he has adapted very well.
My brain sais the ER baby is the best choice because it makes sense that a baby would find it easier to adapt but my heart sais AR because of her picture..... --> the cutest little bird ever. But she has been living in a big aviary for about 1½ year.
Your thoughts???
