Heated Perch

Postby photogem41 » Sun Oct 07, 2012 9:57 pm

Hello! I live in NW Iowa and it gets cold here in the winter. Is it necessary to have a heated perch at night? Right now I keep my house between 70-72 (it stays WARM, it's not very big lol) but I'm worried when it's below 0 that it will still feel drafty. Is a heated perch necessary, or a special heated space? Is it necessary at all? He has a hut he sleeps in at night, but just started using it this last week , which is why I started to think he was cold, because he never went in it before, and this is our first really cold week :(

I don't think it is needed at all, unless your sun has health problems where the warmth may help.
