Hey I had 2 questions for you today, Parrot Forum!
1st question, I've just recently added a male eclectus to my flock, he's going through his cage/playstand phase which Shyla, my female eclectus went through as well. My wondering is when is it a suitable time to start formal training, He's been with me roughly 5 days now and is eating, playing with toys and all the rest, I do mini training unformal sessions such as stepping out of the cage and treating say good boy and such, but when will it be time to do formal training? I assume when he can eat very well, he's still very slow eater and takes him quite a while to fill his crop.
2nd question, I'm trying to work out a schedule for both of them that caters to my needs AND their needs, Shyla has morning training sessions that consists of desensitizing her to the outside world, but I'll cut to the chase and lay out the schedule here and tell me what you think.
12:00 - 1:30 - Breakfast for Shyla/Oliver
1:30 - 2:00 - Self time
2:00 - 3:00 - One of them gets outside of cage
3:00 - 4:00 Self time
4:00 - 5:00 - Out of cage and lunch for the baby boy
5:00 - 6:00 - self time
6:00 - 7:00 - Out of cage for one of them
7:00 - 8:00 - Out of cage for the other
8:00 - 8:30 - Shyla's training sessions that consists of all her tricks she knows and new ones that we're working on
8:30 - 9:30 - Dinner for both
9:30 - 10:00 - self time
10:00 - Bed time
Let me know what you think!!
