maybe you could try putting a folded quilt over Lloyd's cage - just the top part where Bandit is likely to land - that would give enough extra layers i would think between Lloyds beak and bandits feet. You can layer another folded quilt over the first one, however many as necessary to make it thick enough to prevent Lloyd's nips from carrying through to the other side.
he may have gotten spooked by something that was a passing phenomenon, and is still dealing with it. i would say, don't worry too much about what may have happened. just keep a watch on his overall health to be sure he's not sick, and take him to the vet if you think its necessary, but otherwise, just give him some time to gather his spirits again.
as far as the shoulder leaping goes - that's a clear sign that he's insecure. my bird still tries to do that constantly whenever he feels insecure. i guess one way around it is to train him to stay off the shoulder - there's a thread in the Taming and Training section called "Tallest Bird" where me and a couple of other posters are talking about this - check out charlieandkiwi's advice re: shoulder jumping at the bottom of the thread - its helpful!
I also have been training my insecure bird the "wait" command. I started with a one second wait, and now he is able to sit in one place for thirty seconds. it really helps to calm him down and build confidence, because he's learning that he doesnt have to be surgically attached to me to feel secure.
hope this helps! by the way, i forgot which thread you posted this one but i thought the heading "why the long face bandit" fo rhis photo was great!

keep us posted on Bandits progress and dont worry he'll come around
