Which To Pick?

Postby CharlieSheen » Sat Dec 08, 2012 12:14 pm

So I've been searching all around the web for good deals, and researched to find 2 parrots that I like. There are the Sun Conures, which I absolutley love, and the Grey Cockatiels, which I enjoy too. Then there are the parrotlets. So which is best? Here is the information.

:sun: : 60$ With Cage and Food. Handicapped, with one foot missing.

:greycockatiel: : 45$ With Cage. Young females.

:swaying: Unknown Price, Cage sold speratley. Young male with female.

Information I would need:
Which is louder.
Which makes more of a mess.
Which is a better talker.
Which will bite less.
Can the Conure still fly and perch well. (In the photo it looked alright when it was perching)
Which should be kept in pairs (Conure not included.)
And which is a better overall pet?

Thank you

I think the answer to all those questions would be the sun conure, even though he stands on 1 leg hell be fine my birds stand on one foot all day for no reason.also when birds perch there feet kinda lock into place

I think the answer is that you should think hard on why you want a parrot, and I am not just saying this.

Parrots are very expensive, my two fellas have during their time with me, 1.5 years and 1 year respectively, cost me a total of around 3000-4000$ in that time, in toys, cages, food, the birds themselvs, and the most expensive post, vet care. Everything is essential, and I am sure that you can get by much cheaper, but you cant ignore vet costs, they can be the difference between life and death.
Basically, its been about 1500$ per parrot, and year.

Thus, looking for good deals might not be ideal, as it points towards money being an issue (and I might be wrong, if so I appologize).

If you want to take a parrot in, and help it by adopting it on the other hand, thats very noble of you, but you phrased your question in a way that to me said that money was a big factor.
