All three of my birds prefer paper - the GCC and tiel because its easier for their smaller and beaks, and my too has a strange love for shredding any sort of paper into thin little strips.

Our ringneck actually likes cornices best, but paper comes a close second followed by bark from bottle brush perches...

Marvin the Sennie loves anything wooden. Also loves all natural materials like coconut shell and dried grass braids, and MAN does he like playing with seashells!

Peanut likes to chew on harder stuff. She likes her wood perch (is willow considered soft or hard? Some branches are easier to chew while thicker branches aren't.) She tore apart a seashell the other day, and even took on a pre-cracked walnut bigger than her head!

Emmi started with paper and cardboard, but she loves chewing wood! Especially the apple branches in her cage. She seems so pleased with herself when she chews through the little blocks of wood on her toys and they make a THUMP at the bottom of her cage.

Sadie, a 3.5 year old Senegal Parrot loves soft wood and paper that she can shred to bits. Won't really mess with ropes or any wood that's too big or hard. And not really a plastic chewer. One thing she loves is plastic bags and bubble wrap! Occasionally I'll watch her closely and let her shred it, because she's just obsessed with it. We actually have bubble wrap parties, where our 2 dogs, Sadie, and us 2 will pop and shred bubble wrap and then it'll make a complete mess by the end but it's so fun.
