What to use to cut balsa wood?

Postby Kirsten » Sat Mar 30, 2013 10:51 am

I bought some balsa wood from Hobby Lobby and have been a heck of a time trying to cut it cleanly. I bought an xacto knife and it is just not even denting it on some of the thicker stuff. I've tried a mini hacksaw and it catches and slips everywhere. I tried one of those little paper disc things that you put on a dremel and it just is way too dangerous and I've grinded the paper down almost all the way and haven't even cut a full piece.

I'm not a very crafty person, but I just lost my job and I'm trying to stay cheap with toys for Skittles. From what I've read, I should use a razor saw, but I haven't been able to find one anywhere!

So...help?
