T-stand dangers?

Postby ThePanda2.0 » Sun Jun 30, 2013 10:35 pm

I have decided to build a wooden t-stand for my parakeet, and I would like to be certain there are no dangers I am not aware of or things I should know about making a homemade perch. If anyone has any thing they think is important for me to remember or any suggestions for me, I would be grateful to hear them! :)

"TStands" aren't dangerous. Certain types of wood and branches can be. Household products such as tape, glue, screws etc used to make something may well be toxic.

Michael is correct. Make sure the wood you use is not toxic and that it hasn't been treated or sprayed with any chemicals. Use only stainless steel screws (no glue, no nails, nothing galvanized, etc) and that all the angles are 90 degree ones (their nails, toes, feet, beaks can get stuck in acute ones).
