Getting their interest in playing?

Postby elisaymk » Mon May 12, 2014 4:51 am

Hi

I have a cockatiel called Noname and he is a wonderful company for me.
We play and exercise tricks everyday, but I can't help to notice that when I'm not around he just....don't play.
And I'm concerned that while I'm away he is super bored.
I tried some toys, paper, etc and I'm not quite sure what would make him interested in them.
ANy tips or tricks into making him try the toys?

Thanks in advance :)

If you are not there, how can you notice that it doesn't play when you are not there?

LOL - well, she could be peeping through a little crack. In my personal experience, there are very few cockatiels that play with anything at all. I've had many (over 50?) and only remember 3 that actually did anything and it was only pulling strings from a toy. But they do chew paper -not as much as budgies would, though.

I was hoping it would be a working crystal ball or something like that. Why can't I ever get so lucky?

I meant, none of the toys I leave are touched when I come back home...
I also hid some treat inside some balls and they are still there.
