Flight Suit for Green Cheek Conure

Postby 1976pianoman » Fri Sep 18, 2015 1:37 pm

Hello,

Per my vet's advice (for health reasons) I have let Sophia's wings grow and I will never be clipping them again. I miss being able to take her outside.

I would like to try a flight suit for her but I can't seem to find the kind that I want. I am not wanting the type that has a "diaper" rather a simple harness only.

She is a green cheek conure.

Please advise. Thanks.

Ryan

I applaud you on your resolve not to clip, to let the bird fly, and to seek a harness to be able to take the parrot outside safely. Here's the harness I use with all of my parrots:

Go with the petite size. Choice of colors is red, black, blue, or green. I suggest green or red. Getting the harness and the mechanics of putting it on are rather simple. But getting the bird to be comfortable with wearing it and especially putting it on are a whole different story. I strongly advice anyone thinking about having their parrot wear a harness, first read my book and learn all of the taming/training requisites, and only then proceed to the harness training specifically.

Book:

Harness Training DVD:

And here's some more free info on my blog:

If you get the book and harness from my site, I throw the harness training DVD in for free. It's easy to buy a harness but hard to actually use it right. So I hope you can use the information, your patience, and training efforts to do it right. Then you can actually enjoy using it and have success. Best of luck.

Parrot wizard would size petite not be too small for a green cheek conure especially the head feathers some people even say the head part on the size petite is too small to get over a Cockatiels head I have two cockatiels and they both have size X-small and my Aunt had a fiery shouldered conure which is about the size of a green cheek and he fits the X-small perfectly.

Well thats weird that you think a petite would not fit a cockatiel but fit a conure.
