With all of the issues with plastics and their chemical composition, not to mention the hazards of sharp edges, I would shy away from using them for parrots.

The water bottle if it is kept clean is used with the bird anyway. I have washed and dried clean plastic bottles then put a treat in them. Yes, sometimes they beat themselves up with the bottle but the really love it since they can see the treat and have to work for it. My birds know the difference between food and non food chewing. They only eat food items and just chew up and spit of the no food.
