I don't think so. Look at the DVD that came with it. They demonstrate putting it onto a stuffed animal and a large parrot. So it is more obvious which strap goes where when you see it that way. If you have a stuffed animal bird or anything similar, it is a great idea to practice putting it on right before you screw up on your parrot and piss it off. For now though, you don't have to worry about actually putting it on but actually just touching the parrot with it and eventually getting it to put its head through the collar. Remember, if your parrot isn't absolutely hand tame, it may be as scared of your hands as the harness so you gotta go extra slow.

i think the aviator harness + leash is a brilliant idea. Mine came in the mail a few weeks ago (size Xsmall for my nanday). I have some flight suits (bird diapers) that allow you to attach a leash onto them. I can tell you that I would definitely recommend the aviator harness over the flight suit anyday. Seems that Charlie is much more comfortable in it.
I put the aviator leash on Charlie the day I got it, me and him have a very unique relationship where he pretty much trusts me with everything he's got. So I used no treats - no fuss - nothing. He made it very easy for me and everytime we take walks outside on the beach I have him wear the leash. It makes me feel a lot more safe and less worried about anything happening although, of course, I am still careful.
Really is a great thing that I would urge most parrot owners to have.

Good luck with yours and i hope little skeeter enjoys going out with you in it!

hey guys skeeter is accepting the harness very well so far! i am very happy with him and he isnt showing signs of fearfullness of it and so far he will let me put it over his head and have the weight of it on his back and he will eat seeds while i am doing that i still dont feel comfortable yet on putting on his wings maybe next week i am doing short training sessions with it followed by lots of treats and playing and other trick training sessions he also gets to play with the harness since he likes doing that and i have it always on the floor whenever we are playing so it is going very well i am very happy! :D

michael, ahve you seen/held a rainbow lorikeet before, they suggested me to buy the x-small but you said its a bit big on kili and i have always through of rainbow lorikeets being slightly slimmer than senegals.

The main part that matters is the neck collar. That is the only part that is fixed. The strap that holds under the wings can be tightened. As long as the back strap is tightened, a slightly oversized neck collar won't slip off. I think Kili's sized harness should be fine for a rainbow lorikeet but just in case, make sure they have a return policy wherever you get it. I ordered my Cape harness direct from the manufacturer and he promised that if the size were wrong, he'd exchange it for me.
