ok i just orded my x small for my rainbow lorikeet off the official website (yay for free shipping worldwide) it actually worked out cheaper than buying it in new zealand. and he did offer to replace it if it did not fit my lorikeet :) my lorikeet is still a baby hes not the adult weight or size right now.

hes at 115g right now without a full crop the adult weight without a full crop is 130 on average so between 127-135 will be his adult weight. (estimate from my vet)

update: bad news: my friend emily came over. we all went down stairs to get breakfast in the morning. I was still eating and she went uostairs. then she yelled Eva! help your bird is tangled in the harness and i cant get it off so i ran upstairs and saw him frantically trying to get it off. well she had it completely on! and she claimed he never tried to bite but i dont buy it. he was terrified and stressed out. and emily hardle knows skeeter! i never gave her permission to put it on i dont know why she did i am so mad at her! i was training him to let me put it over one wing and once he was fine with that i would do the other one. she probably set me back a good time and we were making good progress too. grrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! now whenever i move my hands to his back he grunts his warning signal and bites before i can take my hand away its like hes scared im going to force him.

i just discovered also that now he seems nervous of me putting my hands near his back with the harness on and now he even tries to take it off i have no doubt this new problem was caused by emily forcing the harness on him. he makes a sound that is like a grunt chirp and whenever he makes it i know he doesent like it and he will bite soon its his warning and he does it every single time. but at least he is putting his head throught the collar on his own now.

Wow. I would be furious if a friend of mine did that. I'm sorry that happened but I'm sure you and Skeeter will be able to overcome this setback with hard work. I just can't believe people sometimes. What on earth was she thinking?

tell me about it sometimes i wish people would just keep their hands and nose where it doesent belong. when he starts flying i have a good mind to put a lock on his cage so only i can get him out when people come over. thanks though i think we can overcome it too. itll take a lot of patience though. this isnt the first time emily has been annoying with my bird. she likes it when he does his tricks and so she likes to cue himwhich ya know i dont mind cuz its good socialization and everything but she tries to continue working on a trick that i am teaching him (nod) and its been a little tricky for him so i tried to work him three times a day for ten minutes or so training sessions and i come upstairs and i see her trying to train him and she clicks late and gives him a differant cue so poor wittle skeeter birdy is all confused. :( oh well
