I hope the glue on a toilet paper roll is not toxic considering we use it on "our" most sensitive areas. As far as bacteria think about your toothbrush everytime you flush the toilet the germs aspirate onto all the surfaces :o ......Birds in the wild are in and out of yards with animal droppings, mold etc they have systems to fight off germs just like us. ;)

I have *heard* that many manufacturers use trace amounts aluminum or zinc in the adhesive and some don't. but this is completely anecdotal so I have no idea if it is true or not.

Hey,
I contacted Charmin Paper products and they replied:
Hi Marlies,

Thank you for contacting Charmin.

The light adhesive to hold the first sheet on the core of our tissues are assessed by company toxicologists to be safe for animals and humans.

Hope this information helps!

So hopefully it clears up the glue issues :P

But I think you and them are referring to different things. They are saying their products are safe to use on your bum while your concern is about it going in your parrots mouth!

I'd be reasonably sure the toilet paper rolls are safe...they're widely used in crafts for little kids, so they would have to be.

I use them for my cockroaches, and haven't ever had any issues...and they will chew on them as well as just hide in them...

They can also survive upto 1,000 times the amount of radiation than a human.
