Thanks Natacha  ...I did have the wrong name...lol...it was driving me crazy...

Apparently they're not selling them in Canada anymore...according to the Parrotdise Perch website...and I would like a 2nd one at some point - to replace the Celltei. But in the meantime, I can use what I have.

Haha I know the feeling..rather irritating, no? ;)

Anyways, no problem, glad I could help.
I don't think I even ever saw them for sale in Canada. In fact, the only reason I know of their existence is that that person on the other forum, also a fellow Canadian, kept going on and on about them and the name stuck. While it seems practical for bigger birds, I wonder if I could ever find a smaller one, more fitted for a small Poi, so that it could be a little less bulky.

Oh and come to think about it...I do think I personally know someone with one...from my parrot club. Guess I'll have to remember to ask her if it is indeed an AP and ask her where she got it...she doesn't appear to me to be someone who would order from the States nor do I think she ever ordered from Parrotdise Perch...

I saw a parrot stroller for the first time last week - at Parrotdise Perch I think. I chuckled to myself when I saw it. Could you imagine taking one of your birds for a walk and someone stops and wants to look at your baby. I think their reaction once they realized it was a bird would be priceless

Definitely a weird idea if you ask me.

No, I couldn't see myself walk my birds in a stroller.
I would do a lot of things for them, but that...No.

It reminds me too much of people who drag their small dogs everywhere in bags. I know it's two different things, but to me it's the same type of ridiculous thing.

Oddly enough, I'm ok with the idea of the backpack with the bird in...I guess I have a unique vision of what is too much or not ;)

Hi, just want to chime in the the travel accommodations for parrots. They are still making and selling the Adventure Pack, here's a link I found:
http://www.parrot-and-conure-world.com/ ... -cage.html
As for whether or not a pack is practical, I believe they are very much. I have a full flighted African Grey. She is truly my and my husbands greatest companion. I live on a farm and have a good variety of pets and farm animals (most of which are like pets) and I venture to say not one measures up to our CAG. We wouldn't think of going away and leaving her for more than a day. We are members of "her" flock and she needs to know we are alive and well. I have the Adventure pack and use it in the car as well as on hikes or just walks in the neighborhood. It's funny, some people think you're just showing off your bird but honestly, how is it any different than taking your dog for a walk. Parrots live much longer than most pets and deserve to have a life outside the cage. I take her with me for the plain fact that we are a flock and should stick together. For that reason, we have a very well adjusted bird. Cindy

Welcome to the board Prof Grey.

Sounds like your grey is a very lucky parrot :) I think everyone will agree with you here that parrots are great pets and make great companions.

I'm on the same page when it comes to including my Lucy and Jessie in our flock. They come to our trailer with us every weekend - they love being outside on the deck (we have smaller cages for at the trailer) and it feels like family members are missing when they are not there.

I don't have a backpack type carrier for my birds ... we don't really walk outside much, so its not practicle for us. But I agree that they need to experience what life is like outside the 4 walls of their cages on a daily basis.

Thanks for the link Dr. Grey! I need to acquire a couple more carriers as right now we are sharing carriers with the cats (disinfected of course) but if we had to evacuate everyone, one bird would have to go in a hotel cage and the other in a petstore cardboard box, it would be the only way to have a carrier for everyone. So I'm starting to shop around for the best solution for Scotty and Scooter.
