Edible foraging boxes

Postby patdbunny » Fri Mar 18, 2011 1:52 pm

Heya!

So I got laid off about a year ago and no prospects of employment anytime soon. Sometimes misfortune is a blessing in disguise! I have time for R&D of my many birdie ideas.

Would you guys buy foraging boxes made of 100% edible materials?

How about 100% edible B-day cards for your fids?

TheNZ - Yes, I saw your bell pepper post. I should have been more clear. I meant a 100% edible human grade foraging box that was for the most part nonperishable. So you could purchase it, throw it on a shelf for 6 months then give it to your bird and you can leave it in the cage indefinitely. Same with the edible hatchday card. You could keep it indefinitely or give it to your fids to eat. 100% edible, for the most part nonperishable.

rebecca - I've had your same thoughts. I used to use toilet paper tubes until I read that the glues used were harmful to birds. And the foraging boxes out there right now are made in China so I've been wondering as to the safety of the manufacturing process, binders used, etc. We all can remember the pet food fiasco of a few years back.
