I'm glad he's playing with his toys. Sometimes all it takes is a variety and some time.

Right now Cheney Bird is chewing apart the budgies' popcicle stick toy. I've never had a bird destroy a toy before, so I'm a mix of really happy that he likes it and kind of upset that it'll be completely gone in the matter of hours.

Look what happens when you want him to play! He realizes that chewing is fun and there goes all the wood in the room.

I checked on the toy Cheney Bird is in the process of destroying and it's only $3.49 at PETsMART. He seems to be going after the green and purple sticks first, so hopefully the rest will stay somewhat in tact for a while. Either that, or I'm going to start eating a lot of popcicles...

I'll definitely check them out! Thanks.

Though I like the idea of eating a lot of popcicles, too. ;)

I have a suggestion for you, try pinecones. My birds love chewing on those, you can have multiple sizes!

@ glassonion would pine cones from outside be safe? do you know how id go about cleaning those? thanks for the idea!! :D
@kaylayuh i like the idea of eating a lot of popsicels to but i think my little guy would go through the sticks faster then i could eat them and then youd have to go through the whole process of cleaning the sticks cuz of the bacteria in the human mouth and it sounds like to much work haha :D

Pinecones should be thoroughly cleaned and baked in the oven to sterilize them, or so I've heard. Our Pine tree produces things that look more like green grenades than pine cones, so I haven't actually done it yet.
