Okay i'll try that.
and what type of fruits/veggies do they eat??

zazanomore wrote:You know, I used to do that. But learning more about proper nutrition, I figured that all the salt in it would just be too bad for them.
How about a bit of natural honey? (not too much)
Another idea would be to put some seed on some fruit or vegetables.

Any fruits and vegetables. Just no avocado! It's toxic.
Don't let them get at any of the pits or seeds.
Personally, my guys hate fresh stuff. They'll only eat it dried.

Go through this list of Safe/Toxic things for your bird.
Your budgie probably won't like fresh veggies/fruits right away. Try MANY methods of sneaking it into his diet. Mush it all up with seed, offer in chunks, bake birdie bread (which I HIGHLY recommend), etc.
The key is to keep trying. Your bird looks young, take advantage of the age factor NOW and offer him MANY veggies and fruits daily. Young birds learn to try new foods much easier than older birds.

Look up on google some recipes of birdie bread. More often than not, birds will eat that bread, and you can sneak in all sorts of goodies like pellets, veggies, fruits, omega-3 oil...
My Cockatiel doesn't eat fresh veggies, so he gets the nutrients by eating the birdie bread.
