This foraging box is the one Malachite is playing with in the Long Foraging Video.

Someone is still not sure about the buffet ball. It might turn into a monster if he gets too close.

Those look great! : )

And I have been wondering if hemp seeds are ok for birds or not, so it's good to see that someone else uses them. Thanks!

I've purchased several foraging toys for my birds in the past, but they are kind of expensive and my boys (especially my Grey) solve them so quickly that it hasn't seemed worth the cost. Now I just use simple 3 ounce paper dixie cups stuffed with toilet tissue.

I take two squares of tissue and scatter a little bit of food on them, then I roll up the tissue, stuff it into the cup, and fold the top of the cup into a triangle. I insert the triangle between the bars of the cage and let the boys enjoy.

The paper cups are thin enough that even my little black cap conure can tear into them without any problem. The rolled up tissue makes sure the food doesn't just fall out as soon as the cup is opened and it forces the birds to actually forage through the contents of the cup to find the food inside. Best of all, a box of 200 cups cost about US $3, so this is a very inexpensive foraging solution.
