what should i make with extra perches?

Postby hopestar » Mon Aug 29, 2011 4:34 pm

i have some extra perches that came with Kirby's newest cage, and there is the extra from her old cage, and i have a ladder and a swing. any ideas on what i can make with these? like a playpen? (please include directions)

here are what the perches and ladder look like (i have 3 big perches, and 1 medium perch. 4 total)

Do you want to make something inside the cage or outside? Maybe you could turn those perches into a hanging play gym? Maybe you can get some thing to wrap around the perches so they can get a better grip while hanging from the ceiling. I think most people use vet wrap but there are probably a million things.

I have a question for you, does Kirby have different textured perches in his cage? Those dowels are very unhealthy for his feet. Most of his perches should be bumpy and textured with one dowel or so in there.

haha yup im bak...nice too see i was missed...been busy lately so trying to giv every spare moment to little bird instead of just talking bout her.

A play pens a good idea but u might need some wood as a base and a big imagination ;)

I always wondered what to do with the dowels that came with the cages but I always ended up throwing them out since I could never find a good use for them.

I have made a playstand from the perches that came with the cage, as well as a perch in the shower. Stitch loves to shower and joins me everyday.

The playstand is just assembled from a shelf-board and the perches. To assemble it, some stainless steel furniture bends and straps. The board is generally covered with paper, as to be easy to clean!
Total cost for the thing is about 10$.
