Thanks!! Actually Im pretty nervous about getting the wrong kind of wood so I normally buy ready made toys with lots of wood pieces and then take it apart. I can usually make 3-4 toys out of one store bought toy.

I know you can bake branches in the oven but Im scared I will burn the house down

YES! Sell toys! You could make tons of $$ off of the toys you make. Or show us how to make those!

Can you make a site on how to make those? My budgies get so bored but we can't get new toys for them.

You have all come up with so many great ideas for hanging and swinging toys.

I have a problem and maybe a younger mind can come up with a solution.

Since I am housebound my only idea for a tree was to put a big tree branch in a Christmas tree stand. I protect the stand by wrapping it in news paper.

I can't put news paper under the spreading branch to protect the floor because my daughter has a boxer puppy that uses any newspaper. Right now I have news paper in a big laundry basket under the swing area but sometimes they still miss.

Rachel won't give up the puppy. I can't give up the tree. Myrtle spends most of her day playing on that tree and now Rambo has ventured onto it. It took him so long of watching Myrtle that I believe he has never had such a thing before in his life. It would be cruel to take it away.

I thought about hanging an umbrella under the most active part but have not quite figured the logistics of it yet. I also thought about building something similar on their play patio. It would take up some of their flat space though.

Any ideas?
