Myrtle likes to tare up crumpled paper. he also likes things that make noise. I tied a 1 & 7/2 inch diameter Christmas bell on her tree. She beats on it a lot. Rambo has a bell in his "nite nite" cage. He doesn't play with it often but when he does he really tries to make music.

Hey guys, thought I'd give y'all an update (I know its been a while).

Well, Echo has finally started playing. Ive kept his old toys in his cage, a rawhide toy and a large rope bundle thing, as well as a new one, a bunch of ropes with little wooden blocks attached to the ends (which he totally destroyed). I've also got him to use his foraging toy! I was so excited, one bc he actually used it, and two bc he trusted me when i told him it was ok and showed him how it worked. :)

He's really come out of his shell in the past couple weeks and I absolutely love it. He's nice to pretty much everyone (except one or two neighbours, who knows why) but always knows where momma is if something upsets him.

He's also turned into quite a chatty little guy, he'll get all hyped up for about ten minutes or so and just start rambling away while playing with his toy or watching tv. He initiates laughter, which I find adorable. My boyfriend thinks its creepy, but no one really asked him so... lol.
One thing that annoys me ever so slightly is that he keeps repeating his old name. Yes I realize he probably hasn't learned his new one yet but still. He'll sit there and mumble, "saxon, pretty bird, good boy, step up, pretty boy, Saxon" or at least Thts what I've gathered from his ramblings. He's recently started mimicking my kissy sounds as well as a sound that sounds eerily similar to passing gas. (blame the boyfriend) haha
And the other day as I was in the kitchen I was just around the corner when I head him distinctly say step up, step up, and sure enough I walk around the corner and he's sitting there with one foot in the air wanting out.

He's also learned that making a squeaky toy sound gets the dogs attention, and tht mommy doesn't like to be pooped on so he should crawl to the floor.
It's crazy how comfortable we are with each other. Hes learning to trust me and I trust him. That is until he decides to play his naughty game where he acts like he wants u to pet him then snaps at u. Then he has the nerve to laugh at himself. He gets a ten minute no-pet time out for those. He's never actually bitten anyone though. It's more like a rite of passage, you prove you're worthy and you can pet him or pick him up what have you.

I do have a question though, do any of your birds hiss for attention? We'll be having a good time and I'll look away or stop petting and hell hiss to get me to look at him. It almost reminds me of the baby birds at the pet store wanting food.

Anyway, that's whats going on with us!

Sounds great.

The hiss is "I want".
