Finally, Ladu can destroy toys!

Postby laducockatiel » Wed Oct 26, 2011 1:09 pm

Hi guys,

So I've got Ladu since he was 2 months old from a breeder, and since I got him, I've been trying to teach him how to play with toys and how to destroy them, simply because, I want him to learn how to have fun. I've got him various toys from pet shops and hung them in his cage, I made some for him, but all he did was nibble them here and there and that was it. I knew he wanted to destroy them, but he didn't know how, so I had to teach him. I made a toy out of some old toy parts and a straw to tie it together and I took it apart myself quite a few times in front of him, and he watched and I knew he was learning what to do. Finally earlier today, I put it down in front of him and in a few seconds he undid the knot, took it apart and started chewing on the wood. I was so happy, because I could tell he was having A LOT of fun! So now I hang it in his cage and he has a bucket full of fun taking it apart! He has also started using his foot to move the toy around so that's great as well!

That is great. My conures have no problem tearing apart thier wooden toys, but they never disassemble them, that would be a hoot.

Ha Ha. That's a good one. You taught your kid how to destroy.
