Postby Julianajara » Fri Feb 03, 2012 11:07 am

Hi guys,
Im brasilian and an acrilic foraging toy here costs at least 40,00U$ so I bough a Coconut for 2.50U$ made some holes in it using a drill and let it dry. Then I took a chain that I already had at home and here it is!! My new foraging toy ^^

That's very cool!

Same problem here, its hard to find some of the parrot toys that I would like to buy and shipping fees are a lot, i wish i could go to America just to shop for parrot toys!

I don't know what it is about coconut toys but they're so adorable.
I want to make one too :)
Petsmart sells one where the coconut is cut in half and made into a little hut-like hanging toy where seeds can be put in the bottom half.
I've beent empted to buy it but it'd probably be a lot cheaper to make instead!
Your coconut foraging toy is a great idea too, I will have to try it once my budgie starts to show any interest in toys at all

My daughter keeps bringing things home that she does not eat. A cocoanut was on the counter too long so I sawed a section off with my little hack saw and scooped the inside out. I scrubbed the inside to make sure nothing would be left in to rot. They love it.

Cocoanuts cost less than toys.
