I watched a parrot on YouTube playing with a rattle. I could not find one. I washed and dried out a clear plastic dish soap bottle with lid and put Nerd candy in it in case she got it open it would not hurt Myrtle. It is her favorite toy. She shakes it to make noise then beats it around trying to get the Nerds. I have even seen her jump up and down on it.

Hello Liz I am very sorry for the very late answer but I am new to the forum and did not notice a second page :? with comments. Thanks so much for the advice its actually very smart. Although if you don't mind me asking if Myrtle reaches the Nerds cant the Nerds hurt her in any way?

Thanks :) :greycockatiel:

Nerds are tiny little candy. Twice she has bit off the lids. She can't shake the Nerds out so she beats the bottle around until it falls. The dogs wait at the floor for them to come down. By the time she gets to them there are only a few left.

Myrtle has such a wide variety of healthy food that she eats I just don't worry about a few Nerds.

She is very rough on buttens. I have decided to remove the buttons that I don't fasten to keep her from snapping them off while on my shoulder.

I save plastic bottle caps and put them on wire close together like a kids teathing ring. Other than bells they are her favorite toys.
