Postby Pomlover2586 » Thu Apr 19, 2012 8:53 pm

Anybody know what pieces and sizes I would need to recreate this PVC play gym? Any help appreciated!

One inch for big footed birdies like African Greys and up. Smaller feet could use 3/4 or 1/2 inch

Here is an idea of what you could do. This is what we had for Ruby before we got Malachite.

I made a training perch today out of PVC, so I'm familiar with the 1" and 1/2" sizes. I'm more worried about connector pieces with the giant play gym....trying to figure out how many pieces of each I would need and what types. Also, how would I connect eyeloop screws for toy hanging? Would the entire thing need to be vet wrapped for grip? And if so would the vet wrap be easy to clean or would wiping it down ruin it?

All the connector pieces fit tight together. To put eye hooks on you are going to have to drill holes just little smaller than the screw itself . It's best to use cotton or sisal rope and avoid vet-wrap because can't be clean and reused once it gets dirty. Plus it is a pain to wrap it around to pvc.
