Postby pionus » Mon Sep 17, 2012 10:16 am

ok, so i was looking in the hamster section on the petco website (i know, i know, rodents  ), and i saw a pack of pieces of apple branch. it said they were all natural and safe to chew. there are even hole in them to hang them!
i just wanted to share that and also get your opinion on weather it is safe for birds or not?

If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands.

I know that they are poisonous to Budgies for sure, but I'm not sure about other birds...

Just a young parrot novice looking to learn more. Considering getting a small parrot! (perhaps a budgie, lovebird, or conure!)

Thats the first time I've ever heard of apple bark being toxic. I've used it for years with no problems but you can always strip the bark yourself if worried.
