New toys

Postby marie83 » Sat Jan 05, 2013 5:41 pm

Woohoo, finally found a toy Ollie hasn't defeated within a few minutes. You can almost see him thinking about different strategies. I think he has worked out where the treat will come out but cant quite figure out how to get it to roll that way lol. Its a big boy toy (designed for bigger parrots) but I'm confident he will suss it out as he has the others. So far he has had the toy for about 10 hours lol.

I haven't changed the difficulty level yet (it came on the hardest one) but might have to if he starts losing interest. http://www.northernparrots.com/space-ci ... rod371294/

As for Harlie she got a couple of shredding/preening toys and they both got a wooden kabob as they both seems to have a thing for chewing at the moment. There is also a woven vine ring with no end of bits and bobs attatched to it that I've put on the playstand. I suspect Ollie will destroy it before Harlie gets brave enough to approach it though.

I literally put that on my wishlist the other day when I placed the order. I couldnt afford anything extra but I always get a toy or 2 when I do a food order so I don't have to pay the delivery fee so I shall order it next time. A few other toys on my wishlist too, trouble is the wishlist is filling up faster than I can afford to order... oppps lol.

Ollie cracked the toy at about the 24 hour mark. I'll let him practice some more before increasing the difficulty. :)

No just stuck it in his cage. I only happened to know what the time was because I put it in right after my medication, I saw him retrieve it from the toy the next day whilst I was watching him play shortly after taking my meds again.
I filled it again last night before I went to work and its still there though.

Ringo also likes taking the bell-ball toys into his Happy Hut. he loves those bell-ball toys so much (including the wicker cat toy type things too) that he will pick one up with his beak and purposely cross the full distance of his cage to enter his hut with it still in his beak. once he's in there, he lies down on his back and holds it with his feet and plays with it and talks to it inside the happy hut in his gravely voice. :P
