These are the adhesives which adhere the parts of these items to themselves (seams).

Of course, make sure you get UN-waxed paper cups.

She said also: the boxes (or packaging) are required to state that they are wax cups. If the box just says "paper cups", they do not have wax on them. And that they will say "wax paper cups" or something like that - if they’re waxed, the labeling should say so.
