Demonstration of Kili's Tameness

Just a quick post to show some pictures and video of how tame Kili is. I realize I haven't demonstrated this all in one place before so just sharing here. Meanwhile Truman is getting better and I returned him back to his cage. He can stand on both legs but not alone on the bad leg. So while he's finishing up his recovery I'm letting him take it easy. Kili is going through a heavy molt so I'm not doing too much with her lately either. They have been spending more time in the aviary and I continue taking them outside to the park.

So, I think Kili is a Senegalus... I think we said she might be Mesotypus before but after seeing these photos I've changed my mind.

Pippin would have a fit if I tried to hold him by his tail!

That's great, but I would be too scared of her tail falling out if I grabbed her like that!

Pretty impressive. It is obvious that Kili trusts you.

I can lay Jessie on his back in the palm of my hand ... but won't attempt some of the other things.

Our baby conure is the same and I love it that way, but Im wondering what it would take to make her jump and fly away. Is there any such thing as too trusting?

if I did that with my bird right now it would completely tramatize her  I kind of let her have her way as long as I know I can get her to do something if I need her to... oh well... really fantastic level of trust there!
