Miley asked Alaska for scritches, aww!

Postby mrbowlerhat » Fri Mar 15, 2013 6:13 am

Yeah, so, my girls are becoming friends more and more now, and today Miley thought it to be a good idea to start preening Alaska's face.
Alaska was pretty much like, "what the HELL are you doing oh my god this is scary"

So Alaska turned away. Miley started preening her back instead.

After that, Miley decided she also wanted some grooming, so she proceeded to bow her head down as to ask Alaska for scritches. Alaska didn't get it.
Miley stood there like that for a while, but she then gave up and started scritching herself.

I love how they're starting to interact nicely! But I'm also very careful, since Miley can be pretty mean, don't want any fighting or anything!

Love this update. It gives me hope for successfully integrating a second Sennie later on!

Oh, I definitely think you should try at least, when your baby has past maturity! And I would really recommend looking into getting an adult rehome too, because I think the main reason as to why it's working out for us is the fact that Miley and Alaska are COMPLETE OPPOSITES in personality! (Like for example, Miley wants to be on my shoulder all the time, while Alaska prefers being close, but not on me)
So when introducing an adult Sennie to a new one, I'd say best thing is another adult one with a personality that in some way or another seems to have the potential to work out with the current bird! :D

Aw, how sweet! I'm glad you had a camera to get some pictures of them together! Both of them are so beautiful, wow!

I wish my GCC and Poi could be friends but my GCC just wants to bully my Poi, even though he is a much smaller bird!

They're gorgeous pics, love the starry blinds, and your girls are just lovely. Hopefully Miley's friendliness will win Alaska over in time and they'll be best buddies!

I am sure they will, Stitch and Leroy started becoming friends this way as well. Leroy wanted his head preened, but Stitch didnt understand anything as he had only had us as a family since moving in. After a while he learned bird-behavior again though, and they are now the best buddies in the world :)!
