Desperate for a Treat.... So cute!!

Postby Cockatielsongs » Wed Mar 27, 2013 7:40 am

Today after our training session I let my Too stay out and play, i was reading and watching him at the same time. Anyways his target stick was on the floor next to me and he walked over and touched the tip of it and looked at me waiting for the click. When it didnt come he walked over to the clicker and started fidgeting with it as if he was trying to press it ahaha  then he walked back to the stick and touched it again and looked at me. Frustrated he picked up the stick and threw it across the room then started spinning around and around trying to get a treat. hehe so I began another training session.

Anyways just wanted to share that because it was hilarious and soo cute haha wish I had my camera out :D

what youre describing sounds so adorable! :D :galah: you certainly have a very clever and enthusiastic birdie on your hands!

just wanted to let you know however that I have heard that leaving the training materials (such as target stick and clicker, and any props youre using) lying around can dilute their importance and meaning as tools for training. so as cute as it may be, it might be a good idea in the future to put the training tools away when you are not actively training with the bird, so they are out of reach and not visible.

Yeah I figured I should or he would think that touching it the stick wont get him a treat anymore so wont bother
