OMG, what a heartbreak! I am so sorry for your loss. Did they test him for heavy metal? Did they do a full body XRay? Did they do a bile acids test? Because these were not on the list of things they did... If they didn't, ask for them next time you have a sick bird and they cannot figure out what is wrong.

Well I just buried him. I buried him with all his favorite things. I showed his body to Jimmy (from a good distance) just so Jimmy would understand. It was hard to see him because of the necropsy as he was all gutted and dissected but I pet him on the head and kissed him on the beak and told him I'd love him forever.

I said a prayer for him and put some fresh roses on his grave.

The vet said he died suddenly. One minute he was eating and he was fine and he was stepping up and letting people pet him and they turned around and he was collapsed on his keel with his wings splayed out. It sounds like a heart attack but the necropsy turned up nothing. They took tissue samples and said they should have them back within about a week so hopefully I will have a reason then because I need closure.

Edited to add: Before he died they also did an x-ray which turned up nothing unusual.

This is exactly what happened to poor Percy our Red rump he had a heart attack. I'm so sorry for your loss its so awful when its sudden with no apparent cause. Bubba had such a good parront and life and although its been cut short what he did have was amazing.

You have a beautiful voice by the way.

Thank you all for your continued support. I can't tell you how much it means to me. I slept about ~4 hours last night but then shot bolt upright in bed and just started bawling my eyes out over my poor little dead Bubba bird. I couldn't sleep for the rest of the night and I went outside to my garden in the backyard and sat by his grave and talked to him.

One day at a time.

And you're right, it will get easier and it won't last forever this feeling. But GOD do I miss him. You have to understand he flew all over the house behind me. I am used to have a bird flying behind me everywhere I go and now... Now there is nothing.
