George is speaking!!!!

Postby Eric&Rebecca » Thu May 09, 2013 6:34 am

I'm just to excited I had to post something! When my partner is not working from home I pop home during lunch to spend some time with the birds, let them out and give them some fresh veggies or fruits.

So I was sitting having my sandwich next to George's cage and all of a sudden I heard this clear "Good Boy!" At first I thought it was Edmund but Edmund never says it like that and the sounds was far too close for it.

I went back to eating my sandwich then I heard it again so I looked up at George and he did it again and I saw his beak move so I knew it was him! I was just so suprised he's so young and can already talk!

Yeah I know! I couldn't believe it. Edmund didn't speak till around 6 months. I don't know if him being parent raised and us taming him has made him more likely to talk... probably not. I was so suprised! I'm still flabbergasted. He's been chirping and chittering away to himself and started a few little whistles but I did not expect this! :-D

I talk to him all the time I'm in the room and I sit in there of an evening and read to him outloud. I do a lot of proof reading at home and when he chirps back to my talking I've been saying good boy so that's where it's come from.

I'll try... Edmund talks too. Although he camera shy! I'm gonna keep trying for you guys because the little feathery bundles are making me look like a fraud at the moment. Edmund really really good at talking.

Awwww that's so cool! He is a good boy. :) I bet Edmund is helping him to talk faster too. And yes, I've been trying to catch Emmi talking on video for a long time. As soon as I start recording....nothing. it's just her blinking and me doing the talking. Lol It will happen sometime!

It's great now they've both been cleared by the vet they can see eachother and chirp and see at the same time. I'm so lucky. Also Georgie started nibbling way more on his TOPS today and he's had carrot and some blueberries. Edmund didn't like the blueberries but I'll keep trying.

It really has. It's those little moments that make it all worthwhile. Them both getting the complete all clear to be introduced now is great news. George is imitating me laughing at the moment.
