best sight EVER (Aroura)

Postby feathermum » Fri Jun 14, 2013 9:45 am

I had to share, the most awesome thing happened yesterday!!! for anyone who's seen in my other posts, my F Jenday Aroura came to me as a rescue w/ no flight feathers, tail feathers, plucked pretty bad in other places. She was extremely hand shy, well we got through the hand taming fairly quick, which is amazing in it's self! And her feathers have been growing back, but slowly (I know these things take time) through all this I have been dying to see her fly, even just a lil' bit. b/c I don't think she ever has.well for the past wk, she has been flapping her little wings so much, like she REALLY wants to fly, then yesterday she flew off her cage & didn't fall!!!! she did't exactly fly,, but she did flap, take off,& glided gently to the FL!!! :danicing: I am SOOO exited!! after she was chirping, & has done it a few more times, kinda like hey! look what I can do!!! she now has 1 full flight feather :D & Spartacus can also fly again too, I am so happy for my babbies!!!1

Awwwww, what great, great news! And yes, I know exactly how happy and excited you were for her! There is no more wonderful feeling than when we adopt a bird that has been neglected or abused and we see it come back to life under our care. The feeling of accomplishment and happiness is overwhelming, isn't it?! Kudos to you!
