My yellowfronted amazon Elliot does some of the same noises when I mist him with the spray bottle. I haven't had him for very long so I'm still trying to figure out what all of his noises mean, and so far I've just assumed that the noise he makes while bathing (kind of a low purring sound almost) is one of appreciation. After watching Cori do the same thing I do believe my assumption was correct.

Yes, they make the PRRRRRR sounds when they are content (they ALL love baths!).

I have had Cori now for 2 weeks and she purrs all the time. She really is the most gentle bird, my Sennie has attitude, she is a lover... When I wake her up she lays her head on my chest and purrs while I give her scratches... She bonded with me really quickly.

Male zons and female zons are completely different, hens tend to be sweet and affectionate (when treated right, of course) while males are more on the independent and highly self-assured side of things...

The mealy amazon tends to be a gentle bird, running from confrontation instead of say, biting... I think she is greatful that I took her in and she now is coming out of her shell and showing lots of personality..
