Cori's first vet visit...

Postby Basilbirdie2012 » Fri Jun 28, 2013 7:47 am

Cori and I went to the vet last week for the first time. She did really well, a little screaming cause she was scared, but really only scared of the towel.. she is fine without it. The vet said she looked dry, which I knew because Im currently breaking her of an all seed diet that she was on with the previous owner. She has been on seeds awhile, her feathers are broken and her feet are dry. She is a thousand times better now then what she looked like when I adopted her. She had blood work done and a dna test. She is 21 years old and she has never laid an egg. Im assuming that she is a male. The vet said her pelvis is really close together and an egg wouldnt pass thru. So Im waiting on the results of the DNA test so I can officially stop saying her and start using him. lol Just thought Id share. She was so funny in the waiting room. Everytime someone asked if she can talk she quickly responded with a hello. She is very outgoing when strangers or friends are around, she/he loves the attention!!

That's great! Let's hope everything comes back OK but, usually, unless there is a big infection, the bloodwork comes back normal.
