My flock in flight ~

Postby mrbowlerhat » Fri Aug 09, 2013 12:51 pm

(Well, except for Miley, haven't been able to get a decent photo of her in quite a while - she really hates the camera  )

These are maybe a few weeks old, but eh, whatever

Great pics, I think especially nr 4 is awesome. You should try making a crop of the green parrot there, his pose is great =).

What shutter speed are you using? I think you can get sharper wings if you go to about 1/1000 or there abouts :) .

Thanks :D I will look if I've still got the original and if it's not way too grainy close up, and if that's the case I'll definitely make a crop of him :D I like his pose too, and it's the only good flight shot I've got of Nicko.

Oh, haha, I am aware, but they would also be completely black (or really grainy with higher ISO) I'm not a huge fan of using the camera flash, not that I think the birds would mind, but I often prefer natural lightning! ...and there's also the fact that my walls are really ugly in flash photos
I don't exactly mind motion blurry wings now and then either, I like to think it makes the shots more alive, I mean, they ARE reeeally fast, and a little motion blur just amplifies that ^_^

Wonderful pictures, they look gorgeous flying. Wish I could do this with my budgies, but they're to fast.

Amazing pictures! you're very talented, and your birds are gorgeous!
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands.
