It isn't something that gets celebrated anymore but it used to be. If we didn't know the birth/hatch date of our pets we would estimate it. We stopped bothering though well before we got to 40+ animals in the house and garden. It became too expensive and hard to remember, that and all our time was taken up caring for them.
