T-minus 10 days until we take Skeeter home. Here is a video I took a week ago:

http://youtu.be/qc_41bHW9HE

He's a little more comfortable with having the cage door open, and was trading head bobs with my husband. I asked about this behavior, as he's not done it so pronounced before, and the breeder says that it's just something poicephalus parrots do from time to time. It reminds me of how male northern flickers elaborately bow to one one another at our bird feeding station. A sort of "sizing up" of one another, as it were:

Interesting, eh?

I bet Skeeter will be quite the dancer once he's home and comfortable. He's going to have a great life with you guys. :)

Thanks, all!

We went on yet another visit. Skeeter was a bit sleepy, as we woke him up from his mid-day siesta. He didn't feel like coming out this time, (they'd moved a lot of the cages around, and it was rather noisy) but he was content to approach us and let us give him a couple treats. He really likes pistachios and walnuts, but was decidedly "meh" about pumpkin seeds. At one point, he rolled onto his back and bicycle kicked at the air -- adorable. Also, he kept climbing over to sit next to me by the bars, and did a curious wing raising behavior where he would shrug, then hold up his wings for an extended period of time while flashing his orange lesser-primary coverts towards my husband, who was at the open cage door. I tried to get a recording of this, but we only caught the tail end of him doing it so it only looks like an ordinary wing stretch. Huh.

Anyhow, here is another gratuitously cute photo:

Yeah, the pois do really cute things, as Weka noted about Skeeter, I love how they roll onto their backs with their feet in the air, it is so cute. I don't think Chance would EVER roll onto her back for me, lol... 'don't think it's a typical Grey thing.

No, it's not. Conures do it, too, but not grays.
